NHS Highland is urging as many people as possible to turn up for their Covid spring booster shot when asked to do so.

Dr Tim Allison, director of public health, stressed the importance of ensuring high levels of vaccination in all age groups to control the virus.

“We had good vaccination coverage in NHS Highland which gave us protection across our community,” Dr Allison said.

“A lot of people have already come forward for the spring recall, but there are still plenty of places in the clinic.

“Achieving high levels of vaccination coverage across all age groups is important for controlling Covid, now and in the future, so I would encourage anyone who is still wondering whether or not to get vaccinated to come forward when invited.”

Vaccination clinics are scheduled for Sutherland throughout May, including Dornoch (May 14), Bonar Bridge (May 17), Lochinver and Scourie (May 24), Kinlochbervie and Durness (May 25), Tongue (May 26 ), Armadale (May 26) and Melvitch (May 27).

Full details of the vaccination program can be found on the NHS Highland website.
