The CSSS opens a pain management clinic

Harley Street Specialist Hospital (HSSH) opens a clinic dedicated to pain management run by a team of 14 consultants.

The team works on a wide range of pain management and will be able to make referrals within the hospital depending on the specific needs of the patient.

Services include headache treatment; neck and back pain; pain in the shoulder, upper limb and hand; knee, foot and ankle pain; dental pain and pelvic pain.

Treatments focus on conservative management, but may include painkiller injections and surgery.

Marcus Whiteley, COO of HSSH, which officially opened last summer following a multi-million pound refurbishment, said: ‘Creating appropriate whole-body solutions to relieve and Managing pain is essential for a person’s emotional well-being. The pain is prevalent these days with a third of all adults in the UK suffering from lower back pain. About 20% of these people seek advice from their GP. This equates to approximately 2.6 million patients each year. Our goal is to help people take steps to manage a pain-free life with treatment and the right strategies. The breadth of experience we have on the team is, we believe, unparalleled and we hope to help a lot of people.
