Penticton Trade and Convention Center No Longer Hosting COVID Vaccination Clinic – Keremeos Review

Penticton Trade and Convention Center is no longer hosting the COVID Vaccination Clinic

The Penticton Health Center or some pharmacies are the place to get boosters and shots

As of February 28, the Penticton Trade and Convention Center no longer operates as a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.

After being the go-to place to get COVID-19 shots and boosters in Penticton, appointments can now be made to visit the Penticton Health Center at 740 Carmi Avenue and select pharmacies.

Interior Health said in a statement March 2 that the change is underway now that 91% of British Columbians aged five and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Eighty-six percent, he said, received two doses while 51 percent received the booster.

The latest figures released Tuesday, March 1 show a continued decline in hospitalizations in the province. Yesterday, the province reported 549 people in hospital and 85 in intensive care.

On March 1, Interior Health still had the highest number of COVID cases.

Interior Health has recorded 193 cases, including 101 at Fraser Health, 95 at Island Health, 45 at Northern Health and 31 at Vancouver Coastal Health.
