Cost of living clinic planned for Cardigan Guildhall

CEREDIGION MP Ben Lake and MS Elin Jones are to hold two walk-in public sessions to give voters an opportunity to seek advice and support on the cost of living crisis.

The walk-in clinics will be attended by a number of organisations, including energy suppliers and charities, and one is scheduled in the Radley Room at Cardigan’s Guildhall on Friday 18 November, between noon and 2pm .

The aim is to give the public the opportunity to speak directly with energy suppliers, utility companies and other organizations who can offer advice and support on how best to manage rising energy costs and household bills this winter.

“The UK cost of living crisis is the main concern for many of us and I want to do my best to help those residents of Ceredigion who are struggling to cope,” said Mr. .Lake.

“The crisis, and its impact on rural communities in particular, is an issue I continue to speak out about at UK level, having raised it on several occasions in the House of Commons, and constantly calling on the government to introduce more support . for off-grid properties.

“These walk-in sessions will be an opportunity to bring together experts on benefits, energy bills, housing and many other topics at the heart of our communities and allow residents to share their concerns with me. face to face.”

Ms Jones said the cost of living crisis was being felt acutely by the people of Ceredigion.

“I have no illusions about the extent of the financial hardship that many of my constituents are currently facing,” she added.

“I hope that by bringing voters and organizations together, we will be able to provide a platform that gives people the opportunity to raise and resolve the issues they are currently facing due to the current cost crisis. of life.”
